v 0.2.34 midnight build is live


So a large part of the game was made without hashes, and this cost performance in the end, and I was not attuned to only hash data preferencing. As it turns out, the engine works better with hashes.

I've optimized a number of collission codes, from say 47 lines to just 4, and removed a number of bottleneck lines.

The squirrels now behave much more like animal npcs instead of mass murdering mobs. which is a bug, they should not be flying everywhere slowing your machine.

The point is you're playing a game as a Mandrake, and are food to rodents and veggie eaters.

I will be spending the large part of this month on the map, assets like graphics, and code base to the player, for the means to move 1 map a month, after that, for a total of 12 maps.

The game will be a ten year build process, with the first year being a free to play html5 version on itch.io, with a 2.99 USD standalone build to allow user base to grow, before being placed on steam for 9.99 usd.

The main goal of Kalvgv II is to make that dream game, this game was intended to do and be about, but proved too taxing at first for a new comer to the engine. [In fact all games called Kalvgv on this platform are attempts to this particular title]. kalvgv by sandstone studios (itch.io)

I will be placing the game on steam by next year, with focus to finish the maps, game base for all npcs, and character story neatly to an Adventure Action game, with no reference to RPG. In fact, It won't offer chracter customization like most games do. I'm wanting to focus in on making the game heavily rely on perception, to play it well. As the maps won't be in full viewable overhead as they are now. I will be culling map details to limit perception, and allow points to be spent on pieces of kalvgv's brain, to empower more really neat things.


That said, enjoy Kalvgv II for now, as an HTML5. at the end of the month, the 2.99 USD version will be up for grabs.


One other thing, I've disabled the sky overlay for this build, just to work on that monday.
